We now have a vast number of self-appointed-internet adjudicators who sit on matters and try to resolve it to the best of their abilities. However, because they are not trained to carry out this role, they cannot outdo themselves. They sit on matters they do not know or understand and invite other users to contribute to a one-sided story. Some adjudicators also attempt to call the other party in and hit a roadblock a lot of the time. The other party may not think the adjudicator is qualified to review the matter or may be too shy to come forward or for other reasons best known to them. Therefore, the matter is left in the hands of the media adjudicator and the audience to decide. While this is the new trend of social media cases, issues and resolutions, I want to urge every internet user that one-on-one communication with others in times of conflict is still the most resourceful and proven method. Social media offers us all a playground, but it is the users’ responsibility to keep it clean and safe.

So before you go ‘Live’ with your conflict next time, try to reach the other person directly and work things out. It is still the most civilized way of resolving conflicts.
